The activities of AP Madeira can basically be subdivided into the following 5 fields:

1. Representing Madeira as a destination in fairs geared predominantly towards trade.

2. Representing Madeira as a Destination at bodies created by the central Government to coordinate promoting tourism abroad, notwithstanding the institutional and inherent tasks of the Regional Tourist Board, which is mainly being relevant as the entity that proposes the Plan for Tourist Promotion Abroad of Madeira as a Destiny, in order to subsequently obtain funding.

3.  Spokesperson with International Trade regarding Madeira as a Destination, essentially to develop partnerships, joint activities or financial or logistical support for activities of those tourist operators.

4. Entity responsible for carrying out its own specific Trade aimed promotional activities abroad, regarding Madeira as a Destination.

5.  Entity with the power to evaluate and support, both financially and logistically, promotional activities abroad of companies installed in Madeira as a Destination, as long as jointly presented and with objectives that coincide with those defined in the Promotional Plan for Tourism, to be approved annually.
